The New York Yankees are sending a quartet to the All-Star Game

The Yankees are sending a very impressive quartet to the All-Star Game. 29-year old lefty swinging 2B Robinson Cano was elected to start by the fans. Cano has played in 79 games for the Yankees so far this year and he is 96 of 307 (.313 avg, .962 OPS) with 55 runs scored, 20 homers, 47 RBIs and 1 stolen base. This is Cano’s fourth trip to the All-Star Team so far in his career. 38-year old righty swinging Derek Jeter was voted in to start by the fans. Jeter has played in 77 games for the Yankees so far this year and he is 99 for 332 (.298 avg, .752 OPS) with 42 runs scored, 7 homers, 25 RBIs and 6 stolen bases. This will be Jeter’s 13th All-Star Game. 31-year old lefty swinging CF Curtis Granderson was also elected to start by the fans. He has played in 79 games for the Yankees so far this year and he is 75 of 308 (.244 avg, .848 OPS) with 54 runs scored, 23 homers, 47 RBIs and 6 stolen bases. This will be Granderson’s 3rd All-Star Game. 31-year old lefty starting pitcher C.C. Sabathia was selected to his sixth All-Star Game. He has pitched in 15 games (all starts) for the Yankees so far this year and he is 9-3 with a 3.45 ERA and a 1.27 WHIP.
