Freddy Garcia is holding onto his rotation spot so far for the New York Yankees

35-year old righty Freddy Garcia was banished to the bullpen when Andy Pettitte was ready to return to action. When Pettitte got hurt, Garcia got his shot to win his job back in the rotation and he has done o.k. Garcia started six games in July and he was 2-3 with a 4.00 ERA and a 1.33 WHIP. He has now pitched in 20 games (10 starts) for the Yankees so far this year and he is 4-5 with a 5.10 ERA and a 1.39 WHIP. Garcia will need to continue to pitch like he is right now if he’s going to keep his job in the starting rotation.
