19-year old righty swinging 3B Dante Bichette Jr. came into this season as the Yankees’ #6 prospect according to Baseball America. Bichette has played in 47 games in A-ball so far this year and he is 48 of 186 (.258 avg, .672 OPS) with 31 runs scored, 1 homer, 18 RBIs and 2 stolen bases. Bichette has now played in 101 games in his first two years in the minors and he is 116 of 389 (.298 avg, .817 OPS) with 65 runs scored, 5 homers, 66 RBIs and 5 stolen bases. Bichette’s utter lack of power has been shocking so far in his career, as his daddy whacked 274 homers in his fourteen years in the show.

The Yankees have sent 28-year old righty swinging 1B/OF Steven Pearce to the Orioles for cash considerations. Pearce played in 52 games for the Yankees in AAA-ball this year and he was 61 for 190 (.321 avg, .996 OPS) with 37 runs scored, 11 homers, 30 RBIs and 3 stolen bases. Despite hitting so well in the minors, the Yankees didn’t blink in dealing him to the Orioles who are currently ahead of them in the standings. That shows what they think of Pearce. Pearce has played in 185 games in his first five years in the majors and he is 108 of 465 (.232 avg, .668 OPS) with 50 runs scored, 9 homers, 52 RBIs and 5 stolen bases.
