The Nets didn’t play any defense as the Hornets shot 50.7% from the floor and that’s why they lost last night.  Can’t blame Vince Carter for the loss as he scored 46 points, grabbed 2 rebounds and dished out 2 assists.  Bostjan Nachbar had a solid game off of the bench with 15 points and 4 rebounds.

First half of the season was disappointing for the Nets

Blogged under Bloglockers, Front Page by Nothing but Net on Tuesday 20 February 2007 at 12:41 pm

Everything that could go wrong, did go wrong for the Nets in the first half of the season.  The Nets lost Richard Jefferson and Nenad Krstic (for the season) for long periods of time and they were considered two of the major building blocks on the Nets.  They sit at 25-29 on the season and are in 2nd place in the Atlantic Division with a 25-29 record, 4.5 games behind the Raptors.  The Nets are faced with a very tough decision with the trading deadline coming up…..do they trade Vince Carter/Jason Kidd….or do they try to make a run at the playoffs as they currently are ninth in the Eastern Conference, only 2 games behind the Miami Heat.  If they trade one of them, they might as well trade the other one too because it will be all downhill from there.  The kids do offer hope as young point guard Marcus Williams would probably really excel if the Nets trade Kidd and let the kid start.  Rookies Hassan Adams and Josh Boone could see their minutes increase as both of them have played pretty well when given the chance.

Blogged under Bloglockers, Front Page, Game Recaps by Nothing but Net on Wednesday 14 February 2007 at 2:25 pm

The Nets fell behind 59-38 at the half and they never recovered.  The Nets only shot 39% from the floor and they allowed the Spurs to hit 53.4% and that’s why they had no chance last night.  Jason Kidd didn’t play….but the Nets still failed to show up for the game.  Vince Carter led the way with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists.  Eddie House had a solid game off the bench with 16 points in 21 minutes.

The Nets need Eddie House to help out

Blogged under Bloglockers, Front Page by Nothing but Net on Tuesday 13 February 2007 at 8:16 pm

The Nets are having problems scoring so they could really use Eddie House to help out off of the bench.  House is known as a player that provides instant offense off the bench but he’s only shooting 39.6% from the floor so far this season.  House is averaging 15.9 minutes, 7.3 points, 1.4 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game this season.  He’s 4th on the Nets with 41 three-pointers made this season.  The Nets need more from him scoring wise if they are going to have a shot at making the playoffs this season.
